Nice try satan, but reminding me of my past won’t cause me to fall into lust again. I’ll tell you what I will do though. I’ll hold fast to Christ and the sacrifice He made for my sin on the Cross. I’ll hold fast to His word and what He has instructed me to do. I’ll hold fast to His strength, because it’s made perfect in my weakness. So nice try, really, but sorry, not going to happen. Insert Coin(s) and try again.
When we give Jesus our absolute best — our time, talent and resources, it is truly an act of worship. We are saying with our actions, “God, You mean more to me than anything. Because You are so awesome, I want to give You everything that I am.” It pleases Him when we come to Him with this attitude. When we draw near to Him with an open and humble heart, He draws near to us. Remember, when you give Him your best, He gives you His best in return.
Five words. That’s all it took. Five words.
The young man felt his world begin to crumble. Five charade like words on the other end of the telephone line had simply swept him off his feet. And he was now falling to inevitable tragedy.
Five words. The first word was marred with blame. The second was said with disdain. The third was as if it were her fault. The fourth and fifth were medical terms.
“Your daughter has Cerebral Palsy.”
He hadn’t a clue what that actually meant. All he really knew was he had sent his six month old child to get some tests and scans at the hospital. She had been only rolling over on the left side, and like any respectable parent, his wife and he took her to receive a diagnosis. She was so tiny. Just a little armful, with a wisp of dark hair.
He was brought back into reality when the doctor enquired if he was still there. He pressed his head against the cool wall, and heaved what little optimism he had left.
“So, what does this mean? She’ll be okay, right?”
The doctor ensured the final crunch that shattered the young man’s world completely.
This has to be read by everyone! :D
